   B. TROPICAL DISTURBANCE SUMMARY:
      (1) THE AREA OF CONVECTION (INVEST 93W) PREVIOUSLY LOCATED
NEAR 5.5N 91.7E, IS NOW LOCATED NEAR 10.1N 88.2E, APPROXIMATELY 533
NM SOUTHEAST OF VISAKHAPATNAM, INDIA. ANIMATED INFRARED SATELLITE
IMAGERY DEPICTS A MONSOON DEPRESSION WITH AN EXPOSED LOW LEVEL
CIRCULATION CENTER (LLCC), BANDS OF CONVECTION ROTATING CYCLONICALLY
AROUND THE PERIPHERY, BUT MINIMAL CONVECTION NEAR THE CENTER. A
061204Z SSMIS 91GHZ MICROWAVE IMAGE INDICATES A BAND OF DEEP
CONVECTION DISPLACED 325-375 NM TO THE NORTH OF THE LLCC IN THE
NORTHERN BAY OF BENGAL, AND ANOTHER AREA OF CONVECTION FAR TO
THE SOUTH OF THE LLCC. A 061510Z ASCAT PASS SHOWS 5-10 KT CORE WINDS
IN THE ELONGATED LLCC, WITH 20 KT WINDS WRAPPED ENTIRELY AROUND THE
PERIPHERY OF THE DISTURBANCE, AND A BAND OF 30-35 KT WINDS TO THE
WEST. STRONG POLEWARD OUTFLOW IS SUPPORTING DIVERGENCE ALOFT OVER
THE NORTHERN AREA OF CONVECTION. 93W IS LOCATED IN AN AREA OF
MODERATE VERTICAL WIND SHEAR (15-20 KT), WITH A STRONG GRADIENT
TOWARDS HIGHER VERTICAL WIND SHEAR TO THE WEST. SEA SURFACES
TEMPERATURES ARE FAVORABLE IN THE BAY OF BENGAL, BETWEEN 28-29
CELSIUS. GLOBAL MODELS INDICATE THAT 93W WILL SLOWLY STRENGTHEN AND
MAINTAIN ITS BROAD WIND FIELD AND LACK OF CENTRAL CONVECTION WHILE
TRACKING NORTH TO NORTHWESTWARD IN THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. MAXIMUM
SUSTAINED SURFACE WINDS ARE ESTIMATED AT 25 TO 30 KNOTS. MINIMUM SEA
LEVEL PRESSURE IS ESTIMATED TO BE NEAR 1002 MB. THE POTENTIAL FOR
THE DEVELOPMENT OF A SIGNIFICANT TROPICAL CYCLONE WITHIN THE NEXT 24
HOURS REMAINS MEDIUM.
