Trough on 175W, south of 35S, moving east 15kt. Ridge 40S 155E 30S
172E 31S 170W moving east 15kt. South of ridge: Westerly quarter 25kt,
tending northerly quarter 25kt east of trough, with gales as in
warnings 514 and 515, and heavy southwest swell. In a belt 360
nautical miles wide centred on a line 25S 158E 30S 154E 40S 150E:
Areas of easterly quarter 25kt, and poor visibility in rain at times.
Belt moving east 10kt.
Outlook following 72 hours:
Ridge 40S 161E to northeast, moving slowly east. East of ridge, south
of 30S: Westerly quarter 20 to 30kt, gale south of 35S, with heavy
southwest swell. West of ridge: Northeast quarter 20 to 30kt, tending
clockwise about low developing near 36S 155E at 220000UTC.
