Discussion and outlook

At 100 PM ChST...0300 UTC...the center of Typhoon Banyan was
located near Latitude 21.4 North and Longitude 164.0 East.
Typhoon Banyan is moving toward the north-northwest at 8 mph. It
is expected to maintain this general motion with a slight
decrease in forward speed over the next 24 hours.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to 105 mph. Typhoon Banyan
is forecast to intensify through tonight. 

Typhoon force winds extend outward from the center up to 25 miles
and tropical storm force winds extend out from the center up to 
100 miles on the eastern side of the storm and 85 miles on the
western side.
