A tree seems a very complicated shape, but there is an easy way to understand it. If you take a branch with the smaller branches attached to it, and hold it upright, it looks a bit like the complete tree in miniature. This is called fractal. So to draw a tree (without leaves) all you need to do is see how the smaller branches come from the larger one.
Choose 2 or 3 equal sized smaller branches coming out of each larger one, or 3 smaller branches with the middle one longer. Then choose which angle they are to the larger branch, and watch the tree growing. If you don't understand what this means, then choose at random, and try to work out what it means!
