Solitaire - design your own gameThis webpage allows you to design and play your own Solitaire board. If you wish to try one of the existing versions of Solitaire, click here. To make your design, click on what you want at the bottom of the board, then on the board itself. Background is round the edge of the board. Use this to give the board its shape. Most will be counters, of course, so these are there at the start. Remember to add at least one hole, or you won't be able to move anything! You can have more than one hole, if you wish. When you are happy with the board, click on Play. The blue circles are counters and the black shows a hole. You move a counter by jumping it over another counter into a hole, and removing the jumped over counter. You identify which counter you wish to move by clicking on it, and then click on a hole to show where to move it. If it's a successful move, the computer will move your counter and remove the relevant counter, otherwise it will ignore you. The usual aim of the game is to be left with as few counters as possible. You're often supposed to finish with one counter in the middle, but this can be difficult (or even impossible for some designs!) However, since you are designing your own game, you can change the rules. You could try to end with some different pattern, perhaps counters in each corner, or round the edge. You can even try to end with the most counters and no valid move available! |
