History of 57 Gwydir Street

Pamphilon Brothers, carpenters lived in Gwydir St in 1879 (see Kelly's Directory), but no house number is given. They were living in 57 Gwydir St in 1883 (see Kelly's Directory).

Francis Rayner, insurance agent, lived there in 1892 (see Kelly's Directory).

Mrs.Bridgeman, lived there in 1904 (see Spalding's Directory).

Mrs. E. Cornwall and Pamphilon & Son, builders, contractors and funeral furnishers, lived there in 1913 (see Spalding's Directory).

Pamphilon & Son was James Pamphilon, I assume, who was one of the Pamphilon Brothers. They moved to number 55 in 1892, and in 1899, they dissolved the business partnership (see number 55). Pampilon & Son moved to number 59 in 1904, then moved to number 57 in 1913 (see above). Ted Pampilon took over number 59 by 1913, and stayed there in 1916.
